Resume

Nate Sumner has been a real estate professional since 1991 and is a Broker licensed by the State of California. He began as a salesperson with Grubb and Ellis in Greenbrae, moved to Prudential California Realty in Mill Valley, and was one of the twenty founding realtors when Pacific Union Residential Brokerage in Marin was established in 1994. Nate's success is intertwined with that of Pacific Union, which has excelled by maintaining high standards of ethics, fair dealing, client service, and market effectiveness. Nate is proud of his role in the development of this company.

Nate earned both an A.B. and a Ph.D. from Brown University in American Civilization. Before entering real estate, he taught American literature and history, was a museum director, and had the great pleasure of giving money away (for exceedingly good works!) as the administrator of grant programs at the National Endowment for the Humanities and the New Mexico Endowment for the Humanities. He also founded two entrepreneurial ventures.

Nate brings this rich texture of experience to his work as a real estate broker. He demonstrates skill, tact and effectiveness in representing the interests of his clients in the complexity of California real estate transactions. He listens well and works with complete openness, honesty and integrity. Whenever possible, he uses humor to guide his clients through the more stressful parts of a real estate negotiation.

Most importantly, Nate's work on behalf of clients is done well and professionally...and both he and his clients have as much fun in the process as is reasonably possible. He finds his work most fulfilling when he is guiding a home owner to a successful and profitable sale of their home, or when he is assisting home buyers to the discovery of a property that will become a deeply loved home.
